ACTOR  MICHELLE NOLDEN DONATES TO HELP HORSES    

FROM THE CBC WEBSITE:  Michelle Nolden was born in Brantford, Ontario. Her memorable performances in critically acclaimed television productions and independent film features have earned her an international reputation. Her feature-film credits include the soon-to-be-released She Never Died, an immortal action thriller directed by Audrey Cummings, as well as Prisoner X, Xmas Horror Story, Vincenzo Natali’s Haunter, and Chuck Minsky’s Skating to New York.

In addition to NORTHERN RESCUE, upcoming TV roles for Michelle include October Faction (Netflix) and the YouTube Original series Impulse. She has had recurring roles as an arms dealer in Designated Survivor; the U.S. President in the hit series Nikita; and the Crown Attorney in The Republic of Doyle. She garnered impressive reviews as the lead in HBO Canada’s series Zone of Separation, playing an acerbic United Nations peacekeeper. Michelle’s feature film roles include The Time Traveler’s Wife; Red; Lucid; and Show Me.

Michelle starred as Dr. Dawn Bell on five seasons of the hit CTV drama series, Saving Hope. She also appeared for five seasons in the recurring role of U.S. attorney Robin Brooks on the CBS show Num3ers, starring Rob Morrow. She also co-starred with Morrow in the Showtime series Streettime.

Michelle was nominated in 2015 and won a 2016 Canadian Screen Award for her work on Saving Hope. She has been nominated for an ACTRA award for her performance in the Canadian blockbuster Men with Brooms, as well as Gemini awards for her portrayal of Hadley Hemingway in Hemingway vs Callaghan, and a drug-addicted mother in Rookie Blue.

Michelle wrote and directed the short film Loonie, which was selected to screen at the Palm Springs, Los Angeles, and Atlantic Film Festivals. She also wrote and directed A Man’s World and the documentary I Need A Hero, both currently on the festival circuit.

Michelle is the artistic director of the Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival. She has several projects in development with her husband, producer Chris Szarka. Her greatest role is Mom to her three boys.

Michelle has been incredibly gracious about using her social media platforms to educate her followers about horse slaughter in Canada – and beyond – and we want to thank her for her generous donation to the hay drive Horse Rescue Fund spearheaded for Rocking Horse Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary.
