At Horse Rescue Fund, we’re honoured to celebrate someone whose compassion shines just as brightly as her talent — Kate Drummond, a Canadian actor, director, and dedicated supporter of animal welfare.

Kate has contributed once again to our “Skip a Coffee. Feed a Horse” campaign, helping provide one-time grants that keep horses safe, healthy, and in loving care when their caregivers face hardship. Her generosity — and her willingness to share our message with thousands of fans — continues to make a real difference for horses across Canada.

A CAREER BUILT ON HEART  

Many know Kate Drummond from her memorable role on the beloved CBC television series Heartland, her regular role on the TV series Wynonna Earp – as well as her appearances in popular video games like Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist and The Division.

She currently (UPDATED OCTOBER 2025) stars in Crossroads Springs, airing on Super Channel in Canada and on Great American Family and Prime Video in the U.S.A.

But beyond the screen, Kate is known for her heart — especially when it comes to helping animals in need.

She regularly supports Horse Rescue Fund through donations, advocacy, and social media outreach, amplifying awareness of the challenges facing equine rescues and sanctuaries across the country.

AN ADVOCATE WHO INSPIRES OTHERS  

Kate’s inspiring TEDx Talk, “Chasing Dreams and Beginning Again” — now with over 600,000 views — reminds audiences everywhere that it’s never too late to follow your passion and make a difference.

That same spirit of compassion and courage is reflected in her advocacy for horses and all animals.

She even helps raise awareness by proudly wearing our Horse Rescue Fund t-shirt, designed to raise money for emergency veterinary care and feed support.

Every time she shares it, more people learn how small actions — like skipping a coffee to feed a horse — can change a horse’s life.
