THANK YOU SUE & 17TH AVE THRIFT OF CALGARY, ALBERTA

First, thank you to animal advocate Angela Morse for making Sue of 17th Ave Thrift in Calgary, Alberta aware of the work that Horse Rescue Fund is doing.

That awareness led to Sue purchasing a 50/50 ticket, licenced by the province of Alberta from Horse Rescue Fund.

When Sue won, she didn’t skip a beat, instantly stating that her winnings were to be gifted to Horse Rescue Fund.

THANK YOU SUE FOR YOUR GENEROUS GIFT &

FOR ALL YOU DO FOR SO MANY!

Those who know Sue were not the least bit surprised by this generous gift.

Sue and her family fled war torn Lebanon in 1974 and landed in Calgary.

Sue was introduced to thrift stores as a young girl because as new immigrants, they could not afford to shop at department stores.

As a very proud Canadian, she wanted to give back to the wonderful city that has been so good to her.

With the support of her family and friends, she decided to combine her deep love for animals with the excitement she gets from thrifting, and opened 17th Ave Thrift to support local animal shelters.

Oh, and you’ll be pleased to know, your furry friends are welcome to shop with you.

March 13, 2022 Sue writes:

“For those of you that are new to our page, let introduce myself. I’m Sue. Passionate animal lover, vegan, social activist, and an advocate for any being that is in need.

We have donated close to $50,000 in cash and supplies to various animal rescues & shelters since our opening in August 2018.

We couldn’t have done that without our generous supporters. So thank you❤️🤗
