WHERE DO THE FUNDS WE RAISE GO? GOOD QUESTION!
Horse Rescue Fund exists to step in when horses and their caretakers need it most.
We’re a nationally registered, volunteer-run foundation/charity, and virtually every penny raised goes back into the community.
Our work in Alberta (and across Canada) focuses on three vital areas of support:
1️⃣ Disaster Response: We help facilitate evacuations, shelter, feed, and care for equines during emergencies such as wildfires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, mudslides — and assist with their safe return home when the danger has passed.
(This, of course, as we are sure you know – continues to be a devastating fire season across Canada.)
2️⃣ Support for Rescue Organizations: We help frontline equine rescues continue their lifesaving work by supplementing or covering emergency veterinary costs.
3️⃣ Help for Individuals in Crisis: We step in when horse owners face one-time hardships — times when a little help can prevent a beloved equine from being relinquished, euthanized, or sold to end up who knows where. And if need be – for medical reasons – we will help with euthanasia expenses.
This raffle is open to residents of Alberta.
Again, we’ll be running raffles in other provinces soon.
Thank you for your support! It is GREATLY appreciated.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED…
We are currently looking for volunteers from across Canada, including two in Alberta, to assist with a few hours of paperwork per month for a few months each year.
We also need one volunteer in British Columbia, one in New Brunswick, one in Ontario, and two in Nova Scotia.
The duties are minimal, and more information can be provided upon request. If you’re interested in volunteering from home – NO MATTER WHERE IN CANADA YOU ARE – please reach out to us.
ECO FRIENDLY PLANT BASED PRODUCTS SUPPORT HORSE RESCUE FUND
If you haven’t already become a fan of the WIDE VARIETY of eco-friendly products offered by this Canadian-based company – with worldwide shipping – then let us fill in a few blanks for you.
The product that was the first to put this company on the map… Ultra-concentrated, hypoallergenic, eco-friendly cleaning laundry strips, pre-measured strips of detergent – that you just toss in the wash. No muss, no fuss – NO big clunky plastic bottle.
Think your laundry needs are too much for this product? We were skeptical but we threw horse ranch “barn clothes” & “saddle pads” at it and it not only worked, but it also outperformed our former favourite products. YET, it’s gentle enough for our hand washable and baby clothes, and again hypoallergenic.
AND now there are so many more products including an amazing toilet cleaner.
Oh, and did we mention that in addition to ALL KINDS of eco-friendly products — when you use our link, Horse Rescue Fund receives 20% of the purchase price?
ACTOR KATE DRUMMOND GIFTS FUNDS
NOVEMBER 2021: We should say actor Kate Drummond contributed yet again, this time to Horse Rescue Fund’s “Skip a coffee. Feed a horse” campaign.
You may recognize Kate from the long running CBC TV show Heartland, or from video games like Blacklist, Splinter Cell and Tom Clancy’s, the Division…
But we recognize and love her because in addition to regularly contributing funds to help horses in need, Kate is incredibly gracious about sharing information about the same on her social media accounts.
Kate from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! 😘
Your $5, $20 and $40 (and larger) contributions continue to go a very long way to buying hay and other supplies for equines in need.
We can’t do what we do without your help, and from the bottom of our hearts we thank you.
We’re hoping that your generosity will continue and that you’ll continue to contribute so that we can say yes to buying hay to helping equines in need.
Again, from the bottom of our hearts we thank you.
